Cade Nelis Records Three Hits in Series Opener

Reagan Paulina had Oakland's only extra base hit thanks to a triple in the seventh. Lucas Loos and Paulina each had three hits in the game. Their play helped Oakland score two in the second, three in the third and another in the fourth to go up 6-0. The 'Dons made it a 6-1 game in the fifth when Jarrett Bickel doubled and scored on a Nelis double.
Braedon Blackford moved his season RBI total to 50 with a run batted in on Thursday.
Mac Ayres suffered the loss for the Dons. He went 5.0 innings. Bryce Martens threw two scoreless innings in relief. Hunter Pidek went 6.0 innings for the Golden Grizzlies to get the win.
The 'Dons fall to 10-39 (6-19 Horizon League). The Golden Grizzlies improve to 23-27 (14-11 Horizon League). The series will continue on Friday at Mastodon Field.
