Men’s Track Earns Second in 4x400 Relay During Final Day of League Meet

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Purdue Fort Wayne men's track and field team capped the 2023 Horizon League Outdoor Championships on Sunday (May 7) with a second place performance in the 4x400 relay. Charles Thiam, Joe Cartwright, Brent Donaldson and Braxton Trittipo ran a time of 3:18.28 to take silver.
The men opened the day taking fourth in the 4x100 relay with Trittipo, Donaldson, John Jackman and Luke Beehler putting together a time of 42.38.
Thiam picked up a sixth place finish in the 110 hurdles, stopping the clock in 15.04 seconds. It was one of two individual podium finishes for Thiam on the day. He also took sixth in the 400 hurdles (56.59). Brent Donaldson was one spot ahead of Thiam in the 400 hurdles, taking fifth (54.99).
Andrew Whitinger picked up a sixth place performance in the 5000 meters thanks to a time of 14:46.56. Jarred Neff and Austin Hall nearly finished in the points, they took ninth (14:51.10) and 10th (14:52.79).
Trittipo ran the 400 meters and was sixth (49.63). Cain Hohne was sixth in the high jump (1.97 meters). Kehinde Oladapo earned three points in 800 meters for the 'Dons with a time of 1:57.17.
The 'Dons took fifth with 81 points, their most points ever at an outdoor meet. Youngstown State won the team title.
