'Dons Volleyball Travels to Wisconsin for #HLVB Matches

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball team hits the road for the first time in Horizon League play this weekend. The 'Dons will face Green Bay on Friday (Sept. 22) before squaring off with Milwaukee on Saturday (Sept. 23).

Know Your Foes
Green Bay has started the year 2-10. Since winning two of their first three matches, they've lost their last nine matches in a row. They dropped matches to South Dakota, Central Michigan, and Illinois State last weekend as they hosted the Capital Credit Union Classic. Milwaukee is 8-6 this season and have won two matches in a row headed into their matches against IUPUI and Purdue Fort Wayne this weekend. The Panthers topped Air Force and Chicago State in five sets in their last two matches.

Purdue Fort Wayne is 6-8 against Green Bay in the program's history. The Phoenix won both matchups last season against the Mastodons. The 'Dons are 2-8 against Milwaukee all-time and the Panthers won both meetings in the 2022 season

LonDynn Betts set a career-high of 31 digs on Tuesday night (Sept. 19) as Purdue Fort Wayne fell to Oakland 3-0. She became the first Mastodon since Rachael Crucis on October 19, 2019 to cross the 30-dig threshold. She had 15 of her digs in the final frame.
Double Double
Panna Ratkai turned in a double-double performance in the 'Dons' loss to Oakland earlier this week. Ratkai finished the match with 11 kills and 16 digs, totaling the most kills and the second-most digs on the team in that match.
Playing the Hits
The Mastodons own the Horizon League's second-best hitting percentage of .204 through the early part of the season. They trail only Milwaukee who is hitting .238. With that percentage, the 'Dons have hit 644 kills which ranks 22nd in the country
A Lot of Assists
Purdue Fort Wayne ranks inside the national top 15 in assists this season with a total of 609. That's an average of nearly 12 assists per set. Taya Haffner leads the team with 374, which is the third-most in the Horizon League.

Green Bay and Milwaukee were ranked right next to each other in the Under Armour #HLVB Preseason Poll. Green Bay was ranked third while Milwaukee took fourth.
Digging It
Sophomore Libero LonDynn Betts has reached double-digit digs in every match so far this season. Last weekend, Betts turned in performances of 14, 18, and 12 digs. She ranks second in the Horizon League and 17th nationally with 229 total digs this season.
Horizon Leader
Panna Ratkai currently leads the conference in points and kills. Ratkai has 228.5 points this season, the fifth best total in the country. She's also totaled 202 kills, also the 5th-highest total in the country
Balanced Attack
Four Mastodons enter the weekend in the Horizon League's top 40 for kills per set. Panna Ratkai is second in the league with 4.04 kills per set, Ashby Willis ranks 19th at 2.50 kills per set, and Iris Riegel is the third 'Don averaging over two kills per set at 2.15. Jena Medearis ranks 39th in the conference with her average of 1.61.
