All-Time Record: Mastodons lead 5-4-0. The 'Dons have won three straight in the series, and five of the last seven. The 'Dons are 2-3 all-time in Milwaukee, winning in 2023 and falling in 2021 in Horizon League games. Previous contest were non-league matches.
Know Your Foe
Milwaukee's Alejandro Martinez was named First-Team All-Horizon League. Mesfin Roda and Daniel Ibarra picked up spots on the Third-Team All-Horizon League Team. Martinez had 21 points and nine goals on the season. The Panthers have been at their best of late, going 3-0-1 in their final league games.
What is the Point(s)?
While Oakland finished the season as the clear No. 1 seed with 20 points, the rest of the league table ended up tight. Seeds 2-6 finished within a point of each other. Robert Morris, Milwaukee and Green Bay all recorded 14 points. Cleveland State and Purdue Fort Wayne totaled 13 points. Cleveland State earned the No. 5 seed due to a win over the 'Dons in the regular season. However the 'Dons were just one point shy of earning the No. 2 seed. Thanks to wins over Robet Morris, Milwaukee and Green Bay, if the 'Dons earned a tie in one of their losses this season they would've had the tiebreaker over those three schools. Long story short, the 2024 Horizon League schedule was very competitive this season.
Shut The Door
The 'Dons have seven shutouts this season. The NCAA Division I era program record for shutouts in a season is seven in 2014. The program record is 14 in 1999 when the 'Dons were in NCAA Division II. The Mastodons' seven shutouts are the most in the Horizon League this season and tied for 19th in the nation for most shutouts.
