Mastodons Shoot 60 Percent in 92-65 Victory

INDIANAPOLIS – Led by Jalen Jackson's career-high 24 points, the Purdue Fort Wayne men's basketball team defeated IUPUI 92-65 on Saturday (Feb. 10) afternoon in Horizon League action.
The Mastodons led 18-16 with 8:20 left in the first half. This was final time the Jaguars were within a possession. The 'Dons closed the half on a 25-8 run, going 8-for-12 in the stretch. Anthony Roberts and Quinton Morton-Robertson each had six points in the push. Morton-Robertson closed the half with a deep 3-pointer from the Indianapolis skyline on the IUPUI court to give the Mastodons a 43-24 halftime lead.
The 'Dons took their first 20-point lead of the game on an Eric Mulder putback dunk with 17:29 left at 51-30.
Jackson finished with a career-high 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting. His 10 field goals also mark a career best. Jackson also added four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Mulder totaled 15 points on 7-of-7 shooting, marking a career high for field goals in a game. Morton-Robertson recorded 14 points thanks to four 3-pointers. He also had eight assists, his most against a DI opponent in his career. Roberts added 13 points.
The 'Dons finished at 35-of-58 (60.3 percent) while limiting IUPUI to 24-of-53 (45.3 percent). Bryce Monroe led the Jaguars with 16 points.
The Mastodons improve to 16-9 (7-7 Horizon League). IUPUI falls to 6-20 (2-13 Horizon League). The 'Dons host Oakland on Wednesday (Feb. 14).
