FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Mastodons will compete for league championships this Saturday and Sunday as they travel to Youngstown, Ohio for the 2024 Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Championships.

What to Watch For (women):

Jai Reed has the fourth-best time in the league this year (7.65) in the 60. She was fifth in last year's championship.
Jesseca Hudson-Turpin finished third last year in the 60 meter hurdles. This year, she has the third-fastest time (8.59) coming into the weekend.
In her first Horizon League Indoor Championships, Riley Tate finished 13th in the mile and 23rd in the 3000 meters. This season, she enters the meet ranking third in the mile (4:56.32) and second in the 5000 meters (16:45.81).
Madison King will vie for the podium in her first league championship as she's run the League's fastest 5000 meters (16:29.21) and the second-fastest 3000 meters (9:32.83) times this year.
Dylan Kirkwood has the league's highest score in the pentathlon this season (3446) and Ellie Zagel enters in fourth (3117). Kirkwood took the bronze last season.
The 'Dons boast two of the top three shot putters in the Horizon League this season with Ali Sparks (13.88m) in second and Lia Rivers in third (13.57m).
Louiza Kruiswijk owns the fifth-best long jump in the Horizon League (5.71m).
The squad of Kassie Jordan, Korynne Moga, Marissa Van De Weg, Jesseca Hudson-Turpin have the League's top time in the 4x400 (3:51.55).
Riley Tate, Marissa Van De Weg, Ava Genovese, Madison King are seeded first in the DMR (11:47.05).

What to Watch For (men):

Ezra Lewellen will enter the weekend with the Horizon League's top 60 meters time (6.74).
Jonas Morris is also a league leader with the best time in the 400 meters (47.95).
Harrison Niswander will enter the weekend in the top five of three different events. He's first in the 800 meters (1:52.80), third in the mile (4:09.16), and fourth in the 3000 meters (8:14.71).
Niswander is also seeded third along with Jarred Neff, Kobe Milledge, and Kehinde Oladapo in the DMR.
The 'Dons are also seeded fourth in the 4x400 meters with a time of 3:21.64 run by Brent Donaldson, Ezra Lewellen, Kobe Milledge, and Kehinde Oladapo
Brejion Peters has the second-best Heptathlon score in the league this season (3293).
Zyler Johnson enters the weekend fourth in the weight throw (16.69m).

Niswander Earns Horizon League Award
Harrison Niswander was named the 2024 Horizon League Alfreeda Goff Indoor Track & Field Men's Athlete of the Year. This season Niswander has set program records in the 800, mile, 3000 and 5000.
