Kruiswijk Sets Long Jump School Record

SAN MARCOS, Texas/ST. LOUIS, Mo./AUSTIN, Texas - Louiza Kruiswijk set a school record in the long jump on Friday (March 29) for the Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field team. The Mastodons were at three different meets.
At the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Texas State, Kruiswijk set the new program mark in the long jump with an 11th place performance of 5.68 meters.
In the hammer throw, Lia Rivers was 16th (43.92 meters). Sophia Buck ran the 400 hurdles in 1:05.63 for 24th. Dylan Kirkwood finished 15th in the heptathlon (3976 points).
At the Texas Relays, the squad of Jordan Yanders, Aniya Young, Jesseca Hudson-Turpin and Jai Reed took 13th (48.31).
Reed ran the 100 in 12.03. Young recorded a time of 12.37 in the 100.
In the 100 hurdles, Hudson-Turpin finished with a time of 13.98. Yanders had a time of 14.06 in the same event.
In the 400 hurdles, Hudson-Turpin stopped the clock in 1:01.96.
Ali Sparks had a mark of 12.74 meters in the shot put.
At the Washington Distance Carnival, Ava Genovese turned in a PR in the 1500 of 4:39.88.
Four Mastodons ran the 5000 meters on Friday. Mercedes Sarver (18:15.12) and Haylee Hile (18:24.45) set new personal bests. Lydia Carrell ran the 5000 in 18:50.00. Faith Allen turned in a time of 18:56.95.
The 'Dons are back in action on Saturday in Texas.
