Mastodon MVB Heads to Lindenwood For MIVA Quarterfinal

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - No. 19 Purdue Fort Wayne visits No. 20 Lindenwood on Saturday for the MIVA Quarterfinal. First serve will be at 7 p.m. ET in St. Charles, Missouri.

Know Your Foes
Lindenwood is 14-11 and 9-7 in the MIVA. Lindenwood is led by AJ Lewis, Ian Schuller and Clay Wieter, all Second Team All-MIVA selections. Both Schuller and Wieter rank top 10 in kills per set in the MIVA. Lindenwood has another Second Team All-MIVA selection in the senior setter, Connor Sheehan, who leads the MIVA in assists per set.

Jon Diedrich and Mark Frazier were awarded First Team All-MIVA this season.
• Jon Diedrich has received three Offensive Player of the Week awards this season, ranking fifth in the MIVA in kills per set (3.78). Diedrich had a career high 37 kills this season, along with a career high 15 digs in another match.
• Mark Frazier ranks fourth in the MIVA in kills per set (3.84) this season. Frazier set his career high of 24 kills this season, and then matched the career high later in the season. Mark Frazier ranks eighth in hitting percentage (.323) in the MIVA.
New MIVA Tournament Format
The MIVA Tournament has a new format for the 2024 season. The top eight teams will qualify for the tournament. The top four seeds will host the bottom four, then the four semifinalists will reseed and play at the highest remaining seed. Then the finalists will play the same site as the semifinals for the newly named Don Shondell MIVA Championship Trophy.
Last Time Out
Last weekend Purdue Fort Wayne won both matches against MIVA opponents to end the regular season. On Thursday (April 4) the Mastodons won a tight five-set match against No. 14 Lewis. On Saturday (April 6) Purdue Fort Wayne swept Quincy.
Coming Up
The MIVA semifinal will be on Thursday (April 18). The four remaining teams will be reseeded and all games will be played at the highest remaining seed.
