Martin's Record Setting Performance Highlights Day One of Gibson Invitational

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Aaron Martin set a school record in the javelin on Friday (April 19) at the Gibson Invitational for the Purdue Fort Wayne men's track and field team.
Martin's throw measured 66.03m. It set a new personal, meet, facility and school records. In second place was Viktor Ertelt at 60.91m. Kai Auernheimer (52.79m) and Brevin Miller (49.75m) also placed in the top ten.
Colten Gasson improved his personal best in the 3000 meter steeplechase to 9:38.36 and finished ninth. Nathan Mills ran his best 5000 meter time of the season of 15:09.80.
Asher Walden posted his best hammer throw mark of the season of 53.03m to take 8th in the invitational event. In the open hammer throw, Zyler Johnson finished third with a personal best throw of 50.03m.
Purdue Fort Wayne has 32 points for second place.
The 'Dons will continue at the Gibson Invitational on Saturday (April 20).
