Andrew Arnos Caps Day One at Polar Bear Invite

MARION, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's track and field team took on the first day of the Polar Bear Invite (March 21) hosted by Indiana Wesleyan.
Andrew Arnos was the lone runner of the day, taking home first place in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:18.46.
Six of the eight Mastodons that competed in day one of the meet were seen in the shot put. Freshmen Josiah Bird and Logan Teichman held the 'Dons highest marks of the day. Josiah Bird took eighth with a personal record 15.08 meters and Teichman earned ninth after a throw of 14.67 meters. Senior Zyler Johnson finished 12th on a 13.41 meter mark. Brevin Miller threw a personal record 13.37 meters to place 14th and Tyler Bowman also threw a personal record (13.12 meters) to place just behind Miller (15th). Caden Bird finished 27th with 11.52 meters.
Miller also took fourth in the javelin throw after a mark of 50.39 meters. Alex Evans threw a personal record 46.22 meters for 11th.
Michael Drohosky, Damien Keys, Andrew Roman, Hunter Crew, Denton Jacobs, Owen Kaufman, Sam Dunnett, Jackson Marshall, Jarred Neff, Joshua Roper, Colten Gasson, Darius Atkins, Colin Gasson, Boden Genovese, Troy Golden, Tyler Hess and Jack Mills will also compete in day two of the Polar Bear Invite (March 22).
