Boden Genovese Breaks 800 Meters School Record at Indiana Wesleyan

MARION, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's track and field team completed the Little State Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan, on Saturday (April 12).
Freshman Boden Genovese highlighted the meet by breaking the school record in the 800 meters. His time of 1:54.55 ranks 10th in the Horizon League standings. Nicholas Mills (1:55.04) and Joshua Roper (1:56.46) also ran personal record times in the event. Harrison Niswander completed the race in 1:57.68.
Andrew Roman cleared 4.65 meters in the pole vault, placing third in league standings. Cody Loshe set his name at fourth in the HL after clearing 4.50 meters.
Ambrose English ran the 400 meter dash in 50.91, a time that sits 10th in Horizon League rankings. Luca Merita recorded 55.66 in his first collegiate finish of the event. Troy Golden completed the dash in 51.28.
English also set a personal record in the 200 meter dash at the meet, finishing in 23.39.
Denton Jacobs threw a personal record 42.01 meter javelin mark as the lone Mastodon in the event.
Andrew Arnos ran a personal record in the 1500 meters after crossing the finish line in 4:12.08.
Nathan Mills completed the 5000 meters in 15:18.60.
Caden Bird (40.29 meters), Logan Teichman (37.06 meters), Jacobs (36.06 meters) and Tyler Bowman (35.81 meters) were all seen during the hammer throw at Indiana Wesleyan.
Purdue Fort Wayne will stay in-state for the Gibson Invitation (April 17-19), hosted by Indiana State.
