NKU Rallies to Defeat ‘Dons

Sailors walked twice and had a double, an RBI and a stolen base. Jackson Micheels finished with two singles and a run scored in the contest.
The Mastodons scored twice in the third and twice in the fourth to grab a 4-0 lead. Sailors drove in Grant Sawa with a ground out in the second before Camden Karczewski tripled and scored on a wild pitch. Karczewski added an RBI in the fourth inning with a bases loaded hit by pitch.
NKU made it a 4-3 game with three runs in the fifth, powered by a pair of home runs. They took the lead for good in the seventh on a Josh Williams two-RBI triple.
Ryan Pehrson got the win for NKU, tossing 2.0 scoreless innings. Gerald Hanson threw the final three innings to earn a save. Owen Willard took the loss after allowing two runs in 1.2 innings for the 'Dons.
Northern Kentucky improves to 22-16 (11-7 Horizon League). The 'Dons fall to 6-31 (5-12). Purdue Fort Wayne is in action again on Tuesday at Michigan State.
