FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne's Haiden Means and Riley Rosneck picked up spots on the Purdue Fort Wayne All-Tournament Team on Saturday (Sept. 19), despite the Mastodons dropping a 3-1 (25-21, 26-24, 19-25, 25-16) contest to Indiana State.

Means was the primary setter for the 'Dons this weekend, dishing out 9.82 assists per set, helping the 'Dons hit .267. Rosneck paced the Mastodons offensively with 3.73 kills per set and a .263 hitting percentage. The duo both averaged over 2.0 digs per set as well.

In the last match of the week, Rosneck tallied 18 kills, with five kills in sets one and three and four in sets two and four. Trinity Rye added 11 kills. Means dished out 41 assists in the four-set match.

Indiana State led 12-6 in the first set before a 3-0 push from the Mastodons. Mya Plemons, Rye and Rosneck each had a kill in that stretch. ISU pushed it back to a five-point margin at 23-18 before the 'Dons got three kills from Bella DiBuono, Rye and Rosneck. The Sycamores got an ace to fall in to take set one shortly after, however.

Purdue Fort Wayne led early in set two after forcing three attack errors in a row. Rye and DiBuono combined for two blocks by the 6-3 mark. The Mastodons strung together a 5-0 run midway through the set to go up 14-9 thanks to a kill from Rye and DiBuono and a block from Rosneck and DiBuono. The Sycamores did not go away, however, as they put together a 7-1 push to get back into it. Then, trailing 22-20, ISU scored four in a row to eventually go into extra points. ISU went to Curry Kendall twice in a row to go up 2-0.

The Mastodon offense rolled in set three with a .375 percentage. They had just three attack errors and had three players, Plemons, Means and DiBuono, convert all of their attempts. The two teams were even through the first 34 points of the set, then the 'Dons had a 9-2 run to finish the set and extend the match. Rye had back-to-back kills to win the set.

Indiana State never trailed in set four, jumping out to a 5-0 start. They also won five of the last six points of the set.

Indiana State improved to 6-5. Purdue Fort Wayne wrapped up its non-league slate with a 6-7 record.

The Mastodons will open Horizon League action on Friday (Sept. 25) with a 7 p.m. match against Cleveland State.
