Mastodons Start Second Half of League Season at Oakland

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodons will look to avenge a loss to the Oakland Grizzlies to open the 2011 Summit League season, as the two teams meet again on Saturday, October 15, with a 4:00 p.m. first serve in Rochester, Michigan.

SCOUTING THE GRIZZLIES...
Oakland comes into the weekends' game having split its last four games, falling to IUPUI and Oral Roberts while topping South Dakota and UMKC.
Offensively the team is led by Meghan Bray who has a team-best 257 kills, while Allison Bell has 193 and Brittany Holbrook 162. Jenna Lange is just off of the triple-figure pace with 88 kills. Alissa Valentine has dished out 501 assists, while Ashley Nevelle averages 6.97 assists per set after coming back from injury earlier in the season. Bray is the team leader in service aces with 13, as Bell has added a dozen for the Grizzlies.
Defensively Alli Kirk has 367 digs, while Bray has 217 and Valentine 130. Five players, led by Jenna Lange's 58, have at least 20 blocks on the year, as Holbrook has 55, and Bell 46.

• Emily Spencer has recorded double-figure kills in each of her first 20 matches this season, the longest streak by a player
to open her IPFW career in program history, passing the former mark of nine held by IPFW career kill leader Fabiana Souza.
• Junior libero Tessa McGill has recorded double-figure digs in each of her last 28 games dating back to last season, the
second longest such streak in program history which gives her two of the three longest such streaks.
• McGill became the program's 14th member of the 1,000-dig club against Milwaukee, and now has 1,336 for her career, is
seventh most in program history. She reached 1,000 career digs in just 69 matches, the quickest to the milestone of any
player in program history.
• Emily Spencer has 14 double-doubles in her 20 matches at IPFW, while Megan Steenhuysen has picked up four this
season, giving her 31 in her career, the ninth most over a career in program history
