Hutchings and Tomecek Lead IPFW in North Carolina

COMPLETE INDIVIDUAL RESULTS | COMPLETE TEAM RESULTS
BOONE, N.C. - Behind the strong finishes of Sarah Hutchings and Jordan Tomecek, the IPFW Mastodons placed 10th of 21 teams at the 2011 Blue Ridge Open, hosted by Appalachian State University.
Hutchings took 19th overall in a time of 18:52.3, while Tomecek finished ten places later in a time of 19:01.7. Kayla Boyes took third in a time of 19:55.7, while Rachel Zachar and Rebecca Jacobs rounded out the scoring five for the 'Dons with times of 20:16.5 and 20:43.8.
Amaya Ayers (123rd/20:43.8) and Julie Jeszenszky (131st/20:53.1) were the sixth and seventh finishers for IPFW.
The Mastodons scored 292 points, 12 ahead of George Mason, and 22 in front of Winthrop.
After a week off, the Mastodons travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to compete in the 2011 Summit League Championships hosted by Oral Roberts University.
