Hutchings Places 15th at Summit Championships

COMPLETE RESULTS
TULSA, Okla. - Behind a 15th place individual from IPFW senior Sarah Hutchings, the IPFW Mastodons took ninth at the 2011 Summit League Championships, hosted by Oral Roberts University.
Hutchings finished just one place, and just over six seconds away from earning All-Conference accolades, placing 15th in a time of 22-minutes, 46.95 seconds.
Jordan Tomecek placed 25th in the field with a time of 23:08.43 over the 6,000-meter course. Julie Jeszenszky took 51st in a time of 24:17.40, with Kayla Boyes finishing close behind, crossing the finish line in 56th place for a time of 24:30.12.
Rebecca Jacobs clocked a time of 24.55.59, placing 62nd to round out the Mastodon scorers, as Rachel Zachar completed the nearly four-mile course in 24:57.39 placing 63rd, with Amaya Ayers placing 71st in a time of 25:50.62.
IPFW finished with 197 points, 19 behind IUPUI for eighth, and a comfortable 74 points from 10th. North Dakota State took the team championship with 64 points, while Southern Utah scored 73 in the tightly-contested team finish. UMKC took third with 99 points, as South Dakota State (116), South Dakota (132), Oral Roberts (133), Oakland (148), and IUPUI (178) each finished ahead of IPFW.
Southern Utah's Diana Medina was the individual champion, completing the course in a time of 21:37.75, nearly 10 seconds ahead of second place in the field.
The Mastodons close out its 2011 season on Novemeber 12 at the Great Lakes Regional hosted by the University of Toledo.
