Fort Wayne, IN - The IPFW men's tennis team closed out weekend play in a 4-3 loss against the Northern Illinois Huskies on Sunday afternoon in Fort Wayne.

The Mastodons opened up the match against the Huskies in wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles slots to earn the doubles point. The duo of Daniel Kang and Junya Saruta won 8-4 while Tony Kanavos and Dean Guyer won in a tiebreaker, 9-8 (3) at the No. 3 spot. In a close match at the No. 1 position, Roberto Cabrini and Francisco Sigaud fell 8-6.

In singles play, the Mastodons claimed two of the six matches. At the No. 4 spot, Kang won in a three-set match, 3-6, 6-4, 10-7, while Eduardo Sztrajtman won 6-3, 7-5 at the No. 6 position.

IPFW will return to action at the Dr. Rudy and Rhonda Kachmann Tennis Center in Fort Wayne on April 19 against Vincennes at 2:00 p.m. and Grace at 5:00 p.m.
