Sioux Falls, SD - On the first day of the Summit League cluster, the IPFW women's tennis team remained undefeated in conference play after defeating Western Illinois and IUPUI both 4-0 on Thursday in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Mastodons improve their win streak to 13 en route to a 23-3 record overall and 6-0 in league play,

Against WIU in doubles play, IPFW dominated all three spots for the doubles point. The duo of Raquel Vescovi and Yuka Kobayashi did not give up a point at the No. 3 position in their perfect 8-0 win over WIU's Melissa Kaufmann and Kara Chicoine.

In singles action against the Leathernecks, IPFW had straight-set wins. Kobayashi dominated the No. 5 position 6-0, 6-0, while Amy Recht won 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 1 position and Vescovi had a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the No. 3 slot.

IPFW earned the doubles point against IUPUI after picking up 8-2 wins at the No. 1 spot by Recht and Ingrid Ballus, as well as the No. 2 position by Alex Forsyth and Caterina Kiefer. Vescovi and Kobayashi led the No. 3 spot, 5-3, before the match went unfinished.

The Mastodons downed the Jaguars in singles to seal the team win. Kiefer improved her singles win streak to 23 after a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 4 slot. At No. 6, Forsyth picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win, while Ballus won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2.

IPFW will face Oral Roberts tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. (est) on day two of the conference cluster.
