CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The IPFW women's tennis team will compete in the 2012 USTA/ITA Midwest Regional, Oct. 18-23 at Atkins Tennis Center in Urbana. The tournament will feature a singles and doubles draw.
Players will vie for a spot in the prestigious USTA/ITA National Indoor Collegiate Championships, Nov. 8-11 at the USTA-Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
The tournament will begin with a 48-player qualifying singles draw on Thursday, Oct. 18, with players advancing to the 48-person main draw, which kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 20. Doubles play begins Friday, Oct. 19 and will feature 48 of the region's top tandems. Doubles action will conclude on Monday, Oct. 22, and singles play will end Tuesday, Oct. 23. Illinois will host players from 24 other schools across the Midwest.
Admission is free for each day of the Midwest Regional and Midwest Blast.
