Softball Travels East for Games at Coastal Carolina

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW softball team will take its 2-1 record to the east coast this weekend as the squad competes at the Chanticleer Challenge hosted by Coastal Carolina University.

IPFW comes into the tournament with a 2-1 overall record, with the team's only loss coming to tournament host Auburn 2-0. Auburn has since climbed to 24th in the Softball Coaches Poll with an undefeated 7-0 record.
Courtney Cronin and Megan Flenniken have each picked up a win this season for IPFW, as the team has given up one earned run in 20 innings of work, for a team ERA of 0.45. Cronin is 1-1 with 11 strikeouts in 13 innings, while Flenniken has five strikeouts in five innings, and Miranda Kramer four strikeouts in two innings.
Freshman Mackenzie Ritsema leads the team in batting at .375 (3-of-8) while 2011 Summit League Freshman of the Year Ashleigh Bousquet is batting an even .300 (3-of-10). Ashleigh Bousquet leads the team with four runs driven in, while Ritseman and Alex Bousquet have each scored three times.
