Softball Hosts Bowling Green in Non-Conference Tilt

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Softball team will face off against Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green on Wednesday, as the Mastodons look to continue its two-game win streak in the all-time series, after IPFW swept the Falcons a season ago in Bowling Green.

ABOUT IPFW
The Mastodons come into today's game having won seven of their last eight games, including a doubleheader sweep of the Butler Bulldogs in Indianapolis on Monday.
The 'Dons have five starters hitting over .300 this season, led by Alex Bousquet (.369) and Mackenzie Ritsema (.364). Bousquet and Kayti Hanson each have scored 19 times in 24 games, while Ritsema is close behind with 17 scores. Courtney Cronin leads the team with seven doubles and four home runs, and is one of three players with more than 20 RBI, as Ashleigh Bousquet has 22, Alex Bousquet 20, and Cronin 20. Alex Bousquet has drawn 14 walks, second-most on the team, while the eight time she has been hit-by-pitch gives her 22 free passes this season.
In the circle, the team is led by Cronin, who is 10-2 overall this year with an 0.71 ERA. She leads the team with 72 strikeouts in 79 innings. Megan Flenniken (5-2) and Miranda Kramer (4-1) also have ERA's below two, Flenniken at 1.39 and Kramer at 1.96. Kramer, who also has a team-high two saves has 44 strikeouts, while Flenniken has 35, as the pair has pitched in 39.1 and 35.1 innings, each.

Bowling Green comes into the game with a 14-8 overall record, winning four of five this past weekend at the Cherry Blossom Classic hosted by George Mason University.
Offensively the team is led by Katie Yoho, who is batting .397, fifth best among regulars in the MAC, while her seven home runs ties for the conference lead, and her 23 RBI's are second. Overall, Yoho leads the team in six offensive categories (hits, triples, home runs, RBI, total bases, and slugging percentage). Hannah Fulk has scored a team-high 21 runs, as Andrea Arney has four home runs and 20 RBI's, second-highest on the team in each.
Paris Imholz has been the team's ace so far this season, and leads the team with a 7-4 overall record and a 1.58 ERA. Jamie Kertes is 5-4 with a 2.33 ERA, while leading the team with 40 strikeouts in 63 innings of work. Krin Greenwalt has also seen time in 10 games, all in relief, and has a 2-0 record and a 4.85 ERA.
ALL-TIME SERIES
The all-time series between the two teams is knotted at three wins apiece, with IPFW sweeping a doubleheader between the teams last year. The teams split their first two meetings, a doubleheader in Fort Wayne in 2004, before the Falcons swept the Mastodons in Bowling Green a year later. Last season IPFW out-scored BGSU 17-6 in a two-game series at Bowling Green.
