Shustova, Huck Win Single Flights at BGSU

Final Results
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Miloslava Shustova and Marcy Huck each won their flight championship over the weekend as the IPFW women's tennis team competed in the Bowling Green Invitational.
Shustova was the overall winner in Flight 6, while it was Huck who was crowned champion in Flight 7 singles. The Flight 2 doubles team of Shustova and Theresa Neumeyr also won a championship.
IPFW finished the tournament with an overall record of 18-6. Some matches were not completed due to heavy rain.
Miloslava Shustova was crowned as the champion in Flight 6 singles. Shustova beat Silvia Carvajal of Toledo and Carly Wilson of Cincinnati on Friday and came back to take down Katie Grubb of BGSU 6-3, 6-3 in the finals.
Marcy Huck was the other IPFW flight winner as she took the top spot in Flight 7 singles. Huck defeated Jesika Bays of IUPUI and Drew Fillis of BGSU to advance to the final round. Huck defeated Sierra Sullivan in the finals 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8).
Theresa Neumeyr recorded two wins at the BGSU Invite in Flight 5 singles. She won her first round matchup against Abbey Neff of IUPUI 6-1, 6-2 and went on to defeat Katie Brozovich of BGSU. Neumeyr was finally defeated in the finals by Ellen Folkers of Cleveland State 7-5, 1-6, 1-0 (11-9).
The team of Shustova and Neumeyr won the Flight 2 doubles bracket. The duo defeated Wolf and Patton of Xavier in the first round 8-2, O'Gara and Wilson of Cincinnati in the second round 8-3, and Folkers and Sherwood of Cleveland State in the finals 8-4.
The women's tennis team will return to action next weekend by participating in the Spartan Invitational, hosted by Michigan State.
