Final Results
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The IPFW men's tennis team wrapped up the three-day Purdue Fall Invitational on Sunday afternoon. There was no team scoring at the event.
Derek Romer was still alive in the Flight C singles consolation bracket on Sunday. After taking an opening day loss, Romer bounced back with two wins in the consolation bracket that matched him up with Armaan Choudhary of IUPUI. Choudhary defeated Romer 7-5, 6-2 and went on to win the bracket over Payne 7-5, 6-2.
Other Mastodons active on Sunday included the doubles team of Tim Saltys and Alfonso Costas. The twosome knocked off Modesitt and Hedderig of IUPUI 8-6 in the first round, and Etman and Hickey of Valparaiso in the second to move on to the finals. The team of Reinhart and Johnson of DePaul just edged out IPFW winning the bracket 9-7.
IPFW will return to action with another fall invitational this coming weekend as the team will travel south to participate in the Ball State Invitational from Sept. 28-30.
