
Men’s Tennis Defeated at Purdue

Final Results
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The IPFW men's tennis team traveled to West Lafayette to get the 2013 season underway. The 'Dons nearly recorded wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, but the Boilermakers held on to win 7-0 on the Basham Courts at the Schwartz Tennis Center.
Purdue (5-0) got off to a fast start as Diego Acosta and Szymon Tatarczyk won the first two matches of the night in No. 1 and No. 2 singles. Acosta defeated Connor Andrews 6-2, 6-0 and Tatarczyk knocked out Daniel Kang 6-1, 6-1.
No. 3 singles featured Andres Cobos taking on Pawel Poziomski. Poziomski took the first set 6-1, but Cobos came back to battle in set two 6-4. No. 4 Singles was more of the same as Gerard Guell played tough against Krisztian Krocksko. Guell was ultimately defeated 6-3, 6-4.
No. 5 and No. 6 singles were the best matches of the night for IPFW. Joao Freitas faced Mateus Silva in No. 5 singles. He went down 6-3, 7-5. Martin Muadi nearly completed the upset in No. 6 singles but Arthur Dobradin held on 5-7, 7-5, 1-0.
The top doubles team for IPFW on opening weekend was the duo of Kang and Freitas. They were defeated by Acosta and Dujovne in No. 1 Doubles 6-3.
No. 2 and No. 3 Doubles finished with the same result as Andrews and Muadi fell to Krocsko and Szymon and Guell and Cobos dropped to Silva and Dobradin (8-2).
