Women's Volleyball Prepares for Final Non-Conference Match

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW women's volleyball team faces off on Tuesday evening in the squad's final non-conference match of the season, hosting the Toledo Rockets, the alma mater of Mastodon head coach Kelley Hartley Hutton.

SCOUTING THE ROCKETS
Toledo comes into the Tuesday evening match after beating Ball State 3-1 and Akron 3-0 over the weekend.
The Rockets have four players who have reached the 100-kill plateau, led by Lauren Rafdal, who has 244 kills on the season, while Dakota Harkins has 142, Becca Reidy 133, and Jordan Kielty 124. Adria Pryor has dished out 634 assists, an average of 10.23 per set, as Reidy and Kielty each have 14 service aces.
Defensively Toledo has been led by Ellen Hays who has 291 digs, while Pryor (142), Kielty (137), Rafdal (114), and Reidy (103) each have over 100 digs on the year. Harkins leads the team with 64 blocks (1.05 per set), while Brooke Frazier has 55 (1.04 per set).

IPFW has faced off eight times against the Rockets, and hold a solid 6-2 lead in the all-time series. Toledo took two of the first three meetings, including a 3-2 Rocket victory in Toledo in 2001. Since then, Kelley Hartley Hutton has been undefeated against her alma mater, winning the last five contests, including a 3-1 Mastodon win in Toledo a season ago.
CLIMBING THE CAREER LADDER
Not only is Emily Spencer climbing the IPFW career rankings in kills, she also currently ranks 19th among all active women's volleyball players with 1,271 kills. Her total is the second-highest by a junior - only Edina Begic of UALR is higher (13th/1,343 kills). Of the top 50 active kill leaders, just six are juniors.
