Softball Travels to Bowling Green for Pair Against Falcons

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodon softball team looks to snap a short three-game losing skid on Tuesday afternoon when the squad travels to Bowling Green, Ohio, to take on the Falcons in a doubleheader.

ABOUT IPFW
The IPFW Mastodons are 23-11 after a three-game sweep by the North Dakota State Bison over the weekend.
Offensively the team is batting .296 on the year, and led by third baseman Ashleigh Bousquet, who hits .410, while Larissa Franklin has hit .387 in 34 games. Brittany Kachur bats .329, with Dani Pugh hitting .327. Alex Bousquet is just off of the .300 pace, and is hitting .294. Ashleigh Bousquet leads the team with seven home runs and 32 RBI's. Franklin and Alex Bousquet have each scored 27 times to tie for the team lead, while Franklin leads the team with 20 stolen bases.
Sophomore pitcher Miranda Kramer has a 16-6 record with a 1.73 ERA and 178 strikeouts in 125.1 innings of work (9.9 per seven innings), while walking just 27 batters. Megan Flenniken is 6-5 on the year with a 2.63 ERA and 93 strikeouts in 93 innings, also with 27 walks.
ABOUT BOWLING GREEN
The Falcons come into the non-conference meeting with a 23-17 overall record, and have won two in a row over the Eastern Michigan Eagles, snapping a four-game losing skid to Kent State and Central Michigan.
The team is led by Paige Berger who is batting .352 with 28 runs scored and 14 RBI's, while Hannah Fulk also hits over .300 at .327 with 26 runs and nine RBI's. Katie Yoho leads the team with seven home runs and 27 RBI's, and is batting .260 on the season. Fulk and Berger have 11 and 9 stolen bases, each, while Yoho has seven, as the trio have a combined 27 of 40 total stolen bases.
The team's pitching staff has been the bright spot of the season, with Paris Imholz and Jamie Kertes combining to pitch 261 of 271 total innings, each with a sub-2.20 ERA. Imholz is 14-6 this year with a 1.91 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 135.2 innings of work. Kertes is 9-10 with a 2.18 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 125.1 innings in the circle.
