FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The IPFW men's tennis team defeated Dayton by the final score of 6-1. The Mastodons are 2-0 on the weekend and 7-11 overall.
The Mastodons dominated doubles competition with three wins as Martin Muadi and Connor Andrews won 8-3 along with the tandem of Jonathan Raa and Andres Cobos.
Daniel Kang and Joao Freitas completed the sweep with and 8-5 win in No. 1 Doubles over Aidan Koross and Robert Salcedo.
The Mastodons picked up multiple points at the bottom of the order as Freitas, Muadi, and Guell all recorded wins in singles play. Freitas won 6-1, 6-0 in No. 4 Singles and Muadi was victorius 6-3, 6-3.
Guell won 7-5, 6-1 over Kyle MacDonald in No. 6 singles and the Mastodons went on to win behind the strong play of Daniel Kang and Andres Cobos. Kang took down Aidan Koross 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 in No. 1 Doubles and Cobos ended the day with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Josh Maylon in No. 3 Singles.
