IPFW Women’s Tennis Rolls 6-1 Over Dayton

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The IPFW women's tennis team defeated Dayton on Saturday afternoon 6-1 to improve to 19-7 overall. The Mastodons are deep in the schedule and only have two matches left before the start of the 2013 Summit League Tournament.
Miloslava Shustova and Theresa Neumeyr got things started with an 8-2 win in No. 2 Doubles against Carly Peck and Claire McNulty. The 'Dons earned the doubles point with a win in No. 1 Doubles as Caterina Kiefer and Anita Henestrosa defeated Kaite Boeckman and Maureen Stevens 8-2 in No. 1 Doubles.
The final doubles match was an 8-5 IPFW victory as Kristine Lindal and Marcy Huck defeated Sammi Hornbarger and Erin Filbrandt.
Singles competition went well for IPFW as Shustova and Henestrosa grabbed quick wins to keep the IPFW momentum flowing. Shustova finished her opponent 6-0, 6-0 and Henestrosa was next in order winning 6-1, 6-0. The Flyers got on the board with a win in No. 2 Singles, but IPFW won the match with a 6-1, 6-4 win in No. 5 Singles and a 6-3, 6-0 win in No. 3 Singles. Rounding out the effort was Marcy Huck with a 6-4, 6-3 win.
