'Dons Take Eighth at Summit Track & Field Championships

MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS
MUNCIE, Ind. - The IPFW Mastodons closed the 2013 Summit League Outdoor Track & Field Championships by placing eighth in the field, hosted at the Ball State University Track.
Kaylin Taylor recorded a ninth place finish for IPFW in the women's 400-meter hurdles. She crossed the finish line in 1:06.42. In the 1500-meter run, junior Kayla Boyes finished 15th overall with a time of 4:57.55.
IPFW had three student-athletes compete in the women's discus throw with sophomore Kayla Zink leading the group with an 11th place finish. Zink recorded a distance of 133-00 (40.55m) and teammate Rachel Dincoff was close behind in 12th place with a distance of 131-09 (40.15). Rounding out the effort for the Mastodons in the discus was junior Emily Radke who placed 16th with a throw of 119-01 (36.30m).
The Mastodons put four runners in the women's 5000-meter run as Andrea Bell crossed the finish line in 17th place with a time of 18:21.63. Amaya Ayers and Rachel Zachar finished back-to-back taking 25th and 26th overall with times of 18:54.08 and 18:58.42 respectively. Kaitlyn Simmons also ran in the 5000 as she finished 33rd with a time of 19:22.46.
The team of Kaylin Taylor, Nichole Wormcastle, Emily Craig, and Julie Jeszensky scored two points for IPFW in the 4x100 meter relay with a seventh place finish, crossing the line in 53.51. IPFW also competed in the 4x400 meter relay with a ninth place finish as Craig, Wormcastle, Kayla Boyes, and Jeszensky finished in a time of 4:15.74.
