SCOUTING THE COYOTES
South Dakota comes into the meeting of the top two teams in the league after dropping its last three matches, falling to Hawai'i, Wichita State, and Creighton. That three-match losing skid came on the heels of a four-match win streak over North Dakota, Montana State, Gonzaga, and Akron.
Leading the squad has been Kendall Kritenbrink, as Kritenbrink and Spencer represent the top two kill leaders in the league. Kritenbrink sits second in the league with 232 kills (4.30 per set), while hitting .221. Sydney Dimke has added 124 kills, while Kelsey Biltoft is just off the triple-figure pace with 83 kills. ALL-TIME SERIES VS. SOUTH DAKOTA
IPFW is 4-0 all-time against South Dakota, as the matches have gone increasingly longer each match. The first meeting came in 2011, with a 3-0 IPFW win, while the next two meetings were each 3-1 Mastodon wins. The most recent meeting came on October 20, a 3-2 IPFW win in Fort Wayne.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. DENVER
2013 marks the first meeting between the two schools.
CLIMBING THE CAREER LADDER
Not only is Emily Spencer climbing the IPFW career rankings in kills, she also currently ranks 19th among all active women's volleyball players with 1,206 kills. Her total is the second-highest by a junior - only Edina Begic of UALR is higher. Of the top 50 active kill leaders, just six are juniors.
KILLING THE FRESHMAN RECORD
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
AN EASTERN SHY OF THE CYCLE
This season on the IPFW schedule, the Mastodons are an Eastern Illinois shy of facing each of the four Illinois directional state schools. The squad first faced Southern Illinois at the Mastodon Invitational, and will face Northern Illinois this weekend, before twice facing Western Illinois in Summit League play.
TOURNAMENT MVP
IPFW junior Emily Spencer, the reigning Summit League Player of the Year, was named the MVP of the IPFW Hyatt Place Invitational, as she had a tournament-high 53 kills on the weekend, hitting .325 with 21 digs and seven blocks. Spencer and sophomore Hailie Ripley were named to the Cleveland State All-Tournament Team. At the Butler Invitational, senior Jen Milligan was named to the All-Tournament Team, while Spencer was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Northern Illinois Huskie Invitational.
KILLING THE FRESHMAN RECORD
When freshman Jadyn' Pegues erupted for 21 kills on Saturday afternoon, she climbed into a tie for the top spot in the school record books for kills in a three-set match by a freshman. She joined recent IPFW Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Fabiana Souza and Amber Borne, each with 21 kills in a three-set match. Of the four now with 21 kills, Pegues is the only one to come in a losing effort.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
The Mastodons swept the opening week's Summit League Player of the Week honors, with Emily Spencer earning her third career Summit League Offensive Player of the Week honor, and Jen Milligan's first Defensive Player of the Week award. On September 24, Spencer was later named the Summit League Offensive Player of the Week again, a weekend after the Northern Illinois Tournament.
REACHING FOR ANOTHER MILESTONE
By the fifth match of the season, two IPFW players picked up key career milestones. Against Southern Illinois on August 31, junior Emily Spencer picked up her 1,000th career kill, while one week later against Cleveland State, senior Jen Milligan became the 16th player in program history to reach the 1,000-kill plateau. Currently Spencer sits 10th in the school record books with 1,206 career kills, while Milligan is 11th with 1,110 career digs.
