Baseball To Face Ball State In North Carolina

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The melting snow left over from the winter storms has forced the IPFW baseball series with Ball State to move locations. The Mastodons and Cardinals will play a doubleheader on March 14 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. beginning at noon. The two teams will play another pair of games at Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C. on March 15, also at noon

Ball State defeated No. 22 Kentucky 10-8 in 10 innings on March 7 to start the season 10-3, but followed with four straight losses by a combined 58-7. The Cardinals have already played three extra innings games this year, winning all three (Wofford, Rider and Kentucky).
BSU has a combined team ERA of 6.42 with opponents hitting a combined .297. Zach Plesac leads the Ball State pitching staff with a 4-1 record and two saves; no other pitcher has more than one win on the season.
