FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW men's tennis team won its record-breaking 13th match of the season on Tuesday evening in a split of its afternoon's matches. The final Valparaiso win came at No. 4, where Martin Muadi fell by nearly the slimmest of margins, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4.
IPFW had a short amount of rest between sets, as the Mastodons battled with the Grace Lancers just over a half hour later. Despite playing on weary legs, the Mastodons swept the doubles portion, opening with an 8-1 win by Connor Andrews and Wangensten-Oye at No. 3. Kang and Cobos won 8-3 at No. 1, before Guell and Muadi picked up an 8-5 win at No. 2.
Wangensten-Oye and Muadi picked up the first two wins of the singles portion, Wangensten-Oye by a 6-1, 6-0 score at No. 6, as Muadi won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5. The Mastodons get a small break before returning to action on Friday, April 4, when the team faces off against the Omaha Mavericks, as the team will look to improve on its 3-0 Summit League record.
