BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The doubles pair of Gerard Guell and Martin Muadi fell in the battle of flight champions, as Karl Wangensten-Oye won the back draw with Tom Sizeland falling in the back draw final in the final day of the IU Hoosier Invitational.

The IPFW duo fell 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 to the squad of Daniel Bednarczyk and Chris Essick in the doubles championship match. The Mastodons had three game points to hold for a 1-1 lead in the third, and then a pair of break point opportunities later in the third and deciding set, before falling to the Hoosier pair.

Sophomore Wangensten-Oye won in straight sets at 6-2, 6-3 over Peter Bleach of the Citadel to finish 4-1 over the three days of singles play at the invitational.

IPFW newcomer Sizeland fell to Xavier's Arthur Stefani by a 6-2, 6-3 score in the back draw final of the other flight, and closed the three days with a 3-2 overall record.

The Mastodons return to action on September 26 and 27 at the Ball State Invitational in Muncie, Indiana.
