
Women's Tennis Set for Valentine's Day Match-Up With Norse

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW women's tennis team will look to extend its win streak to four matches on Saturday afternoon, as the squad hosts Northern Kentucky University in a Valentine's Day match-up at Empowered Sports Club.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The Mastodons come into the weekend meeting having won three in a row and four of their last five.
Mayu Sato, the defending Summit League Player of the Year, has a team-best 15 wins this season, including a 7-1 record at No. 1 singles during the spring. Carlota Trevino is 11-9 this year, and an even 4-4 in the spring while Marcy Huck and reigning Summit League Player of the Week Sara Sherif each have nine wins in singles play this season. IPFW has an overall winning percentage of 52.1 (62-of-57) in singles matches, and are 29-19 (60.4 percent) in the eight spring matches.
In doubles, the pair of Huck and Sato are 13-5, including a 5-3 mark during the spring season, as Trevino and Kristine Lindal are 7-3 with a 3-1 record during the spring. IPFW is 14-7 overall in the spring in doubles, and 32-26 (55.2 percent) overall.

Northern Kentucky is 1-3 during the spring season; however, the team has lost to Dayton, Kentucky, and Louisville in the team's last three matches.
Sydney Power is 3-3 on the year, including a 2-1 mark at No. 3 singles to lead the team. Four others - Danielle Donahue, Rheanna Morehart, Sierra Nellessen, and Yasmine Xantos - each have two wins this season. Between the fall and spring, Northern Kentucky is 12-24 ,(33.3 percent) in singles matches, and 5-17 (22.7 percent) in the spring.
The Norse have used nine different doubles combinations this season, with the duo of Hailey Shanahan and Donahue going 3-2 overall, including a 1-1 mark at No. 1 pairs during the season.
