
Women's Tennis Hosts Three on Weekend

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW women's tennis team will look to improve on its 13-5 overall record over the weekend in which the Mastodons host Cleveland State, Ball State, and Aquinas.
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
IPFW comes into the weekend riding a three-match win streak with 5-2 wins over Bradley, Missouri State, and Oral Roberts.
The Mastodons have a 97-82 overall record in singles, led by defending Summit League Player of the Year Mayu Sato, who is 22-7 overall, and 14-4 during the spring season at No. 1 singles. Marcy Huck and Carlota Trevino each have 15 singles wins on the season, while Sara Sherif has 14 and Sofia Sorokina 13. In all, five Mastodon players have double-figure victories on the year.
In doubles, the duo of Huck and Sato are 18-8 overall, including 8-6 at No. 1 pairs, while Kristine Lindal and Trevino are 12-5 overall and 7-2 at No. 2 pairs, with Alina Schibol and Sherif combining for a 12-7 overall record and 10-5 at No. 3.

Cleveland State comes into the weekend this season with wins over Bowling Green and Hawai'i Hilo, and an overall 2-9 record.
The Vikings are 62-65 overall between fall and spring in singles; however, are 23-43 during the spring season. Ellen Folkers is 15-5 overall on the season, and is 4-1 at No. 3 singles, while Victoria Bensimon is 12-9, having split time at four different singles positions.
In doubles, the team is 10-20 during the spring season, having used nine different match-ups, and are 5-4 during the spring at No. 2 pairs.

Ball State comes into the weekend with an 8-2 record, with the only blemishes on the record coming via a 4-0 loss against Xavier, and a 4-3 loss to Wright State.
Courtney Earnest is 13-3 on the season, with a perfect 8-0 mark at No. 2 singles. Courtney Wild is 12-4 overall with a 7-1 mark at No. 1 singles. In all, the Cardinals are 62-28 (69.9 ,percent) in singles matches, and the team has four players with double-figure victory totals on the year.
In doubles, the No. 1 pair of Rosalinda Calderon and Earnest is 4-1, while Bethany Moore and Wild are 6-0 at No. 2 pairs.
