
Tennis to Face Denver in 2014 League Championship Rematch

DENVER - In a rematch of the 2014 Summit League Championship match, the IPFW women's tennis team will face off against the Denver Pioneers at 5 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon in Denver.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
IPFW comes into the match having won seven of its last eight matches, including two on March 27 against St. Bonaventure and Niagara.
This season the team is led by Mayu Sato who is 27-7 overall, including a 19-4 record at No. 1 singles during the spring season. In all, five members of the IPFW singles lineup have records above .500, as Carlota Trevino (19-14), Sara Sherif (18-8), Sofia Sorokina (17-11), and Marcy Huck (17-12), all have records over .500 on the season.
In doubles play, the tandem of Huck and Sato have a 21-10 record, including going 11-8 at No. 1 pairs and 2-0 at No. 2. Kristine Lindal and Trevino are a combined 14-6 this season, 9-3 at No. 2 pairs, while Alina Schibol and Sherif are 14-8 as a team, going 12-6 at No. 3 pairs.

Of Denver's 15 matches this season, nine have come against nationally ranked teams, of which the Pioneers are 2-7 with wins against No. 55 BYU and No. 75 Kansas.
Julia O'Loughlin is 12-2 on the season for the Pioneers, split among every spot from No. 2 and No. 6 singles, and has won her most recent 12 matches. Sonja Radosevic is 9-5, including going 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Overall Denver is 44-38 (.537) in the spring in singles.
In doubles, the team of O'Loughlin and Maureen Slattery are 7-4, including 4-4 at No. 1 pairs and 3-0 at No. 2. As a team Denver is 22-20 (.524) in doubles play during the match play season.
