FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Zach Tom led the way with two goals and five shots on goal as the IPFW men's soccer team extended its winning streak to three matches following a 6-0 shutout over Asbury on Friday night. The win improves the Mastodon's record to 3-2-0, while Asbury falls to 1-4-0.

Tom opened the scoring in the 30th minute after snagging a rebound off the Asbury goalie who was stopped Britt Watts' original shot just seconds earlier. Tom's second goal of the night came in the second half after the Eagles' Grafton Hamilton received a red card for a tackle from behind in the box, giving Tom a penalty kick in 56th minute. Tom would aim to the right and put the 'Dons up 4-0.

Austin West earned his third goal in just as many matches after taking a free kick from just outside the box and placing the ball to the right side of the goal. Both West and Tom lead the Blue and White with six points each on the season.

Kyle Hoagland and Carmelo Morales earned their first points of the season after combining for the second Mastodon goal of the night. Coming in the 38th minute, Morales sent the ball across the box with Hoagland heading it just inside the near post.

Jacob Murphy extended the 'Don lead early in the second half as he received a through ball from Darren Doyle and fired a shot from 15 yards out, giving IPFW a 3-0 lead in the 49th minute of play.

Stephen Danielian capped the Mastodon scoring for the night as he found the back of the net with just four minutes remaining in regulation. After getting a centering pass from Watts, Danielian made a sliding shot to touch the ball past the keeper's left side.

The offensive outburst from the 'Dons saw IPFW outshoot Asbury 31-6, including an 18-3 drubbing of shots on goal. The Eagles managed 12 total saves, with 11 coming from John Burns. Raphael Kotzock and Jorge Trujillo split the shutout for IPFW, as Kotzock earned three saves in 63 minutes played. Additionally, the Blue and White held a 9-6 edge in corner kicks.
IPFW is back in action on Sunday, September 13 at 1 p.m., when the 'Dons host Northern Kentucky at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
