Cross Country to Race on Familar Course

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - IPFW men's and women's cross country will continue their season on a familiar course at the Greater Louisville Classic. The Mastodons competed in this race last season and it brought personal best among many of the runners.

SCOUTING THE MASTODON MEN
The IPFW men's cross country team had a lot of strong perfomances last time out in Gainesville. Gabe O'Keefe led the 'Dons placing 28th with a lifetime best of 26:40.61. The identical twins, Kurt and Bret Unger, finished next for IPFW. Kurt finished in 41st with a time of 27:39.89, while Bret finished in 46th with a time of 27:52.53.
Logan Kitchen came in with a time of 28:25.67 placing him in 55th and Connor Shaffer rounded out the scoring for the men when he finished in 57th with a time of 28:28.24. Randy McComb, Ryan Curtis, and Nathan Clary also competed last time out, McComb finished 61st at 28:50.82, Curtis crossed the finish with a time 29:22.46 in 67th, and Clary placed 71st with a time of 29:55.61.
SCOUTING THE MASTODON WOMEN
The IPFW women's cross country finished ninth out of 13 teams last time out at the Gator Invitational. Freshman Rebecca Sippel led the way for the 'Dons with a personal best time of 18:37.41 placing her in 22nd. Emma Rafuse also finished with a personal best of 18:56.86 putting her in 31st.
Rachel Kacer was the third member of the Blue and White to cross the finish line in Gainesville when she came in with a time of 19:37.27 placing her in 59th, while Breanna Fensler came in 68th with a personal best time of 20:20.71. Caitlyn Kiekhaefer gave the Mastodons their final scoring number and ran a personal best when putting up a time of 20:21.36 finishing in 85th. Andrea Bell and Taylor Busch also competed for the Mastodons last time out, Bell finished in 109th with a time of 21:10.96 and Busch came in at 23:05.36 in 130th.
