Men's Preview:
Following a victory last weekend at the University of Evansville Cross Country Invitational, the Fort Wayne men's cross country team will head to the Summit League Championships Saturday (Oct. 29) in Macomb, Ill. The 'Dons will send eight runners to this year's event being held at Spring Lake Park, which also played host to the 2007 league championships. Bret Unger led the Mastodons at the conference meet last year with an 8K time of 27:06.24, followed closely by Gabe O'Keefe's time of 27:14.54. In addition to the two front runners, returning to this year's event are runners Connor Shaffer, Logan Kitchen, and Nathan Clary. Newcomers to the event are freshmen Alex Barton, Robert Peck and Sam Williamson.
Women's Preview:
After placing first last weekend, the Fort Wayne women's cross country team looks toward to the Summit League Championship this weekend in Macomb, Ill. The 'Dons, who finished sixth last year, return six athletes from last year's event, including the two top finishers, Rebecca Sippel and Emma Rafuse, who ran a 23:00.67 and a 23:09.35, respectively. Also returning to the event are sophomore Hannah Aschliman, juniors Brittany Fensler and Breanna Fensler, and senior Rachel Kacer. Newcomers to this year's event are freshmen Morgan Blyly, Danielle Frank and Kailee Schoof.
