Softball to Play Five Games at Chattanooga Spring Classic

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Coming off its opening weekend in South Carolina where it went 0-4, the IPFW softball looks to pick up its first win of the season at the Chattanooga Spring Classic Presented by Ruby Falls, hosted by the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

PREVIEWING THE TOURNAMENT
The Mastodons are coming off the Charleston Southern Tournament where they fell in the final game 3-2 to the host Buccaneers. The 'Dons had leads in their losses to Georgetown and Towson but were unable to hold on in the late innings. Several IPFW players opened the weekend showing offensive prowess as six different Mastodons hit over .300 for the weekend. Led by newcomers Jessica Murray (.571) and Lauren Watson (.375), the 'Dons hit .275 as a team, and scored 17 runs.

In Tennessee, IPFW will face familiar opponents in Wright State, Detroit, and Dayton. The 'Dons will also go up against UT Martin for the first time since 2008 along with host Chattanooga for the first time.
