Softball Prepares for Rematch with Falcons

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Coming off a 2-1 record over the weekend at the Hoosier Classic, the IPFW softball team will have a rematch with Bowling Green, which it defeated in the opening game of the weekend 2-1. The Mastodons victory came in walk-off fashion over the Falcons on March 18 before falling to UIC and ended the tournament with a win over Wright State.

Scouting the Falcons
The Falcons are 11-14 on the season, and BGSU will enter Wednesday's IPFW twinbill looking to snap a four-game losing streak. Prior to the current streak, BG had won two-straight games and six of the eight contests. Last weekend, the Falcons fell to nationally-ranked Notre Dame in South Bend, then dropped three games at the Hoosier Classic in Bloomington. BG suffered a pair of walk-off losses on Friday, falling to IPFW by a 2-1 score and Western Illinois by a 9-8 result. On Saturday, the Brown and Orange lost a wild one, as Michigan State picked up a 20-13 win in 10 innings. The Falcons trailed by scores of 7-0 and 9-3, but rallied back to tie the contest at 9-all in the bottom of the seventh. Each team scored a run in both the eighth and ninth innings, before the Spartans exploded for nine runs in the 10th frame. BG scored twice in the bottom of the inning, but it was not enough.
