
No. 3 IPFW Plays No. 2 Omaha In Summit League Championship Opener

TULSA, Okla. – IPFW, the No. 3 seed for the 2016 Summit League Baseball Championship for the third consecutive season, will play No. 2 seed Omaha in the opening game of the double-elimination league tournament on Wednesday, May 25, at 1 p.m. Eastern Time at J.L. Johnson Stadium in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Mastodons of eighth-year head coach Bobby Pierce finished their regular season with an overall record of 31-24, 14-16 in The Summit League … the 31 wins are a new school record. The Mavericks finished the season with a record of 28-26, 18-12 in the Summit League. IPFW has won 10-straight games and enters the tournament with 18 wins in their last 23 games overall (18-5). Omaha leads the all-time series against IPFW, 14-13, including 5-1 this season.
