Fort Wayne Travels to Ohio For Weekend Tournament

OXFORD, Ohio - The Fort Wayne softball team returns to action for the two-day Miami Invitational hosted by Miami Ohio, March 18 and 19.

SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
The 'Dons have spent the last week in Florida for a pair of tournaments, the Under Armour Invitational and the Under Armour Showcase. While there, the 'Dons went 3-9. The Mastodons are coming off back-to-back wins at the Under Armour Showcase over Providence and Saint Joseph's. Fort Wayne also defeated Hartford earlier in the week.
At the plate, Brooke Imel led way with a .462 average in nine games. In all, five different players hit at least .300 for the week. Maria Palmegiani drove in a team-best seven runs on the week while Sierra Miranda and Sydney Windlan each finished with six RBIs. Miranda also led the team with seven runs scored.
In the circle, Bailey Benefiel guided the Mastodons to a pair of complete game victories, while Olivia White also earned a win. Benefiel finished the week with 25 strikeouts in 37 1-3 innings with a 3.00 ERA. White threw 23 2-3 innings with an ERA of 3.25 and 14 strikeouts.
