Softball to Host Toledo In Home Opener

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - After spending the first month of the season on the road, the Fort Wayne softball team hosts the Toledo Rockets for its home opener March 22 at 3 p.m.

SCOUTING THE ROCKETS
Toledo went 2-2 in last weekend's SIUE Tournament. UT collected a pair of wins vs. Butler (6-0, 4-3) but dropped games to SIUE (3-2) and Northern Kentucky (4-2). Senior 2B Chandler Rice started all four games for the Rockets at the SIUE Tournament and earned the MAC weekly honor for her performance. Highlighting the senior's weekend at the tournament was her perfect 4-for-4 performance at the dish vs. SIUE. Rice quickly ignited the Rockets' offense with a triple off the first pitch of the game. Rice finished the tournament with a .533 batting average (8-for-15), .867 slugging percentage and .562 on-base percentage to go along with her perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
