Men’s Soccer Wraps Exhibition Season With 3-1 Win Over Valparaiso

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Fort Wayne men's soccer used two second half goals to top Valparaiso 3-1 in a home exhibition contest on Friday (Aug. 18) evening.
The Mastodons opened the scoring with a goal by Will Hunt, assisted by Romain Lopez in the 16th minute. Romain found Hunt on the far left side and Hunt put a shot into the right side of the goal.
Valpo tied it in the 24th minute when Adan Garcia found the back of the net.
It went to half tied at one but didn't stay that way for long. Just a few minutes into the second Lopez finished inside the box on a pass from Edel Ensaldo Bustos.
Fort Wayne put the game away in the 76 minute. Matthew Lieshout used a low line drive shot from the top of the box for Fort Wayne's third goal. Alex Joneson assisted on the play.
Fort Wayne dominated play with a 19-4 advantage in shots.
The 'Dons open the season for real on Aug. 25th at Wright State.
