Scouting the Mastodons (2-4): Fort Wayne returns to the diamond after going 1-2 at Little Rock last week. Robert Young III hit two home runs last weekend. Fort Wayne's 3-2 win on Friday saw Brandon Phelps get the win and his brother Chase Phelps earn the save. The Fort Wayne pitching staff has yet to give up a home run on the season.
Scouting the Racers (4-4): The Racers are coming off of a 7-6 loss to Ole Miss on Feb. 27 in Oxford, Miss. Davis Sims had a home run. Tyler Duke recorded two hits and one RBI. Alec Whaly took the loss on the mound for the Racers. Prior to the Ole Miss contest, the Racers swept a three-game series from Summit League member Western Illinois. The Racers won 11-5, 5-4 and 4-3. Ramsey Scott is hitting .357 on the season with two home runs.
Solid Start: Freshman Trevor Armstrong hasn't allowed a run in his first two relief appearances over 3.0 innings.
300: Three 'Dons are hitting over .300. The list includes Travis Upp (.412), Dylan Wilbert (.353) and Jack Lang (.333).
Looking Ahead: The Mastodons travel to Indianapolis next week to take on the Butler Bulldogs of the Big East Conference.
