Scouting the Mastodons (10-27, 6-15 Summit): Fort Wayne returns to the diamond on Friday after not playing a midweek game due to finals. Robert Young III owns a .482 slugging percentage. It ranks fifth in the Summit League. He hit his fifth home run of the season last week. The 'Dons took one-of-three against South Dakota State last week.
Scouting the Leathernecks (10-25, 7-10 Summit): Western Illinois lost all three at Oral Roberts before a midweek game at Iowa was canceled due to weather. The Leathernecks are hitting .245 as a team. Drue Galassi owns a team-best 18 walks. He is one of four Leathernecks with double-digit walks. Western Illinois' best starting pitcher this season has been Ian Koch. The junior has a 3.24 ERA. He has yet to give up a home run on the season. The 'Dons will face Koch in game three.
