What Happened Last Time?
The 'Dons are heading down the road to Indiana Tech for the Strive for Greatness Invitational Presented by Circle Logistics on Saturday (Dec. 14) at 10 a.m. Last week, the Mastodons competed at the Mastodon Opener held in the Lutheran Health Fieldhouse. The men's program finished third with 82 points and then women finished in fifth with 52 points. Eight school records were broken in the first meet of the season. After a 16 year break from competition, the men's track and field team broke seven out of the eight school records. Bradon Gulch (shot put, 14.74m), Luke Beehler (long jump, 6.48m), Braxton Trittipo (60m dash, 7.10 and 300m dash, 35.26), Michael Oliver (5K, 15:31.26), Ben Marano (200m dash, 23.25) and Nick Derickson (600m run, 1:33.19) broke the school records, all of them are freshmen. On the women's side, freshman Naimah Slaughter broke the school record in long jump (1.68m) in her very first collegiate meet. Kathy Potter finished first in the women's 5K (18:44.18) and Ally Bailey finished second in the 300m dash (40.47).
