Dayton Takes Non-League Game From Purdue Fort Wayne 9-3

DAYTON, Ohio – Purdue Fort Wayne dropped a baseball contest at Dayton 9-3 on Thursday (March 7) afternoon.
The 'Dons led 1-0 after one and half innings after a single run in the second inning when Robert Young III scored on a wild pitch.
Dayton responded with a five spot in the bottom half of the second. Purdue Fort Wayne made it a 5-2 game with another run in the third. Garrett Mohler scored on a wild pitch. It stayed a 5-2 game until the fifth when Dayton scored a single run and would go on to add further insurance runs. Purdue Fort Wayne's final run came in the ninth when Aaron Chapman singled in Dylan Stewart who earlier doubled to the gap.
All told the 'Dons put seven hits on the board. Brandon Yoho had a pair of hits.
Justin Miller is 0-2 after starting and suffering the loss. The 'Dons used eight pitchers in the game.
R.J Wagner picked up the win with 5.0 innings of work. He is now 1-0.
The Mastodons fall to 4-7. Dayton improves to 2-6-1. The 'Dons will play Butler on Saturday at 1 PM ET in a single game. The contest will be played at Northern Kentucky University.
