Mastodons Travel South To Muncie For Ball State Meet

The Purdue Fort Wayne women's track and field program heads to their second MAC school in as many weeks when they travel to Ball State.
Meet: Ball State Challenge
When: Friday, April 12, 6:35 p.m. | Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m.
Where: Muncie, Indiana | University Track at Briner Sports Complex
Field: Ball State, Bowling Green, Butler, Cincinnati Christian, Cleveland State, Dayton, Grand Valley State, Indiana East, Indiana Tech, Indiana Tech, Indiana Wesleyan, Miami (Ohio), Northern Kentucky, Purdue Fort Wayne, Taylor, Toledo, UIndy, Western Michigan, Wright State and Xavier.
About The Meet: Caitlyn Kiekhaefer, Sophia Hirzel and Bailie Brown will run in the 5,000 on Friday night. The majority of competition will be held on Saturday. The 'Dons will run in a pair of relays. Olivia Coleman, Rachel Pierre-Louis, Ally Bailey and Lexi O'Connell will run in the 4x100. The 4x400 will see a team of Savannah Girolami, Coleman, O'Connell and Pierre-Louis. O'Connell will run in the 100 and 400 hurdles. Emma Rafuse will compete in the 1500 and 800. The long jump will see Coleman compete in the event. In the 100, look for Emily Melchi, Hannah Jennings and Brittney Hartman.
Last Week: The 'Dons were at the Jack Shaw Classic hosted by Western Michigan. Emma Rafuse was second in the 1,500 meters thanks to a time of 4:32.52. It was a personal best for Rafuse and a second off the school record.
Up Next: On April 20th, the Mastodons will send some athletes to the Mt. Sac Releays and others to the Al Owens Invitational hosted by Grand Valley State.
